Progressive Social

We are a Kansas City based loosely organized set of friends and acquaintances  looking to address these three challenges:

1. It is easy to become fixated on national politics, even though we can have much more impact on local level politics

2. It is easy to become politically inactive outside of election season, even though that is when we can have much more impact

3. It is easy to sit at the computer and read and fume, even though politics are best practiced in person, socially

The goal therefore is to establish a regular gathering where we can discuss state level progressive politics, as a kind of gateway and encouragement towards deeper action. Our gatherings are typically in homes or at bars, often with an invited guest who can talk with authority to a particular issue or effort.

If you sign up, our one promise is that every e-mail you receive will be for something you can attend in person. We will tell you when we have planned gatherings (generally once a month). We also let friends plug area other progressive events or volunteering opportunities to the mailing list.
